SUMMARY:Journey of the Horse Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:A PERMANENT EXHIBIT at THE MAH SOCIETY OF EDMONTON \nJourney of the Horse is committed to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Edmonton’s Chinese history. Our exhibit is a permanent installation on two levels in the Mah Society of Edmonton building.  \nThis two-part exhibit starts with a journey through the Mah Society of Edmonton’s rich\, 100+ year history. Visitors are encouraged to continue to level two\, to follow the journey of Chinese settlers in Alberta. Also housed on level two are our cultural practices archive and genealogy library. \nCome see our collection of fascinating objects and stories that illustrate the challenges and triumphs of Edmonton’s Chinese community. We invite you to immerse yourself in this historic experience and learn more about Edmonton’s Chinese past. \nOpen only on selected Saturdays and Sundays. \nPlease register for your complimentary entrance tickets. SUMMARY:Seniors in Motion
DESCRIPTION:The Canadian Multicultural Education Foundation is pleased to invite you to a new seniors project – Seniors in Motion: Exploring the City’s Multiculturalism Through Walks\, Talks and Cameras.\n\nPlease join us on Friday\, July 3rd from 10am to Noon for a lovely stroll through the City’s river flats starting at Ortona Arts Hub 9722 102 St NW\, situated in the charming Rossdale in Edmonton. Larry Wong will be our photographer who will teach you how to take good pictures of the walk using your cell phone or camera. He will be capturing the walk himself to document the project.  This is the first of 10 heritage/cultural neighbourhood walks and talks.\n\nThe tour will be led by Emily who is organizing the Curiosity Walking Tours at Edmonton Heritage Council and this tour of the Children of the Flats is one of the neighbourhoods on the project to visit.\n\nPlease be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes for a walk around the neighbourhood and dress for the weather.  Water and snacks will be provided by CMEF.\n\nTime of Arrival: 9:45 AM at the Ortona Arts Hub parking lot.\nTour Duration: 10 AM – Noon (rain or shine\, unless it a heavy rain then it will be cancelled)\nParking: free parking at the Ortona Arts Hub\nRSVP by July 2nd:  Please email admin@cmef.ca to book a spot on the tour or call 780-298-0746 to leave your name and call back number.\nCost: Free\n\nPlease help sign up family and friends for the walk.
