DESCRIPTION:Join us to view objects from Peonies in Bloom: A Selection of Art and Textiles from the Mactaggart Art Collection online exhibition in person\, as well as never-before-exhibited textiles. Curator Isabel (Pi-Fen) Chueh will lead a tour of peony-adorned textiles and works of art from the Mactaggart Art Collection. Learn more about the symbolism of peonies in Chinese culture and textile production during the Qing Dynasty. \nNote: Tour attendance will be capped at 15 individuals. Masks will be required on the tour. SUMMARY:Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival 2022
DESCRIPTION:Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival is held\, every year\, in mid August. The festival is focused on rowing groups’ competitions. The boats which participate in the competitions are long wooden boats that their bows are shaped as dragon figures according to ancient Chinese tradition. \nThe events take place in North Saskatchewan River\, in Louise McKinney Riverfront Park. \nThe rowing groups turn the three days of the festival to an enjoyable happening. \n
