The Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association (ECBEA) was the first organization to offer awards to students in Edmonton’s Chinese (Mandarin) Bilingual Program to encourage students to continue learning Chinese language, Chinese culture and contribute to the community but most importantly, to share what they learn with the broader multicultural and intergenerational community.

Nearly 2000 students, in the Chinese Bilingual Program, study Mandarin during regular public school hours in 5 elementary, 4 junior high and 3 senior high schools.

The ECBEA Awards & Scholarship Committee is working to expand our offerings of even more innovative and imaginative scholarships to benefit students in the Chinese Bilingual Program.
