Kodomo no hi – Japanese Children’s Day

Date/Time
Date(s) – May 5, 2019
11:00 am – 3:00 pm

In Japan, children have their own national holiday – Kodomo no hi or Children’s Day – celebrated on the fifth of May. Families raise carp-shaped streamers, display traditional dolls, and celebrate the happiness of children. At this family event, kids can make their own origami and crafts to take home. See dolls and other Children’s Day displays. Listen to a traditional folk tale and enjoy authentic giant carp streamers flying in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden. Free craft activities are available while supplies last.

Regular admission applies.
Drop-in event; advance registration is not required.
