Local children will have many opportunities to meet the celebrated author, who will be visiting all the library branches in Edmonton as well as libraries in Leduc, Stony Plain, Tofield and Vegreville.

During a session called “Myth and Magic” he’ll mix Asian folktales with magic tricks and improvisation. He even took a cartooning class so he could learn how to illustrate his stories live.

Chan’s efforts are part of a nationwide campaign to get kids reading over the summer. Kids can read books and write jokes on the TD site and track their reading with free notebooks and stickers from library branches.
