The aim of the event is to provide a home-away-from-home experience for the international students of UoA who are unable to go back home during Chinese New Year. Students will be able to enjoy the atmosphere and festivities of Chinese New Year while staying in Edmonton and UoA. Additionally, this event is an opportunity for students to meet new friends and foster bonds and relationships.

Activities at Event：

The event consists of 14 performances (including skits, songs, and dances) that seeks to reflect and highlight not just the Chinese culture, but also the daily lives of international students, in a bid to spur and encourage them in their endeavors. The event seeks to promote positivity in the lives of the students, with special emphasis on the warmth, and collective spirit amongst them. The event also aims to serve as a bridge to foster cohesiveness between the Chinese and Canadian cultures. There will be 2 prize draws during the gala to increase audience participation, and to give the audience the best benefits possible.
