Berlioz’s monumental masterpiece never fails to astonish and delight, its blazing romanticism providing the ideal contrast to Grieg’s beloved concerto. Piano soloist Conrad Tao’s colourful overture was inspired by the separation of heaven and earth in Chinese mythology.
