Abacus: Small Enough to Jail – Asian Heritage Month

May 6, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

$10 – $12

From Steve James, the director of HOOP DREAMS and LIFE ITSELF, comes the incredible saga of the Chinese immigrant Sung family, owners of Abacus Federal Savings of Chinatown, New York.

In the wake of the United States’ 2008 mortgage crisis, this small financial institution became the only company criminally indicted, forcing the Sung family to fight a five-year battle to preserve their legacy.
