The Confucius Institute in Edmonton is hosting an awards night for winners who took YCT and HSK exams.

YCT is an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency. It assesses young students’ abilities to use Chinese in their daily and academic lives.

HSK is an international standardized exam that tests and rates Chinese language proficiency. It assesses non-native Chinese speakers’ abilities in using the Chinese language in their daily, academic and professional lives.

Edmonton has the largest Chinese Bilingual Program of its kind outside of China. Nearly 2000 public school students are learning Chinese on a daily basis.
