One of the poorest countries in the world, Nepal was hit with the worst earthquake in recent memory. The world news media have reported the death count as being over 7,200 people and this number is expected to climb. The United Nations estimated that over 8.1 million of the country’s 31 million people, or over 25% of the population have been affected by this earthquake.

The Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association (ECBEA) is fundraising to assist the people of Nepal. We will be working with the Edmonton Chinese Lions Club and the Canadian Red Cross to achieve synergy through our combined efforts.
