The China Institute at the University of Alberta invites you to engage in a rare up-close experience of Kung Fu and Zen Buddhism, originating in the legendary 1500- year old Shaolin Temple of China, with esteemed Senior Kung Fu monk instructor, Master Shi Yandi.

Registration is required, as space is limited. If you need to cancel, we would appreciate notice as soon as possible!

This is a free event, however, donations will be accepted by the Shaolin Temple and Cultural Centre of Canada. Suggested donation amount is $20; charitable receipts can not be provided.

Shaolin Temple & Cultural Centre of Canada 

In March 2018 Master Yandi was handpicked and entrusted by Shaolin Abbot, the Venerable Shi Yanxin to visit Vancouver, Canada and oversee the preparatory work for Shaolin Temple and Cultural Centre of Canada, an official extension of Shaolin Temple China. Shaolin Temple and Cultural Centre of Canada officially opened its door to Canadian and international students and disciples in September 2018.

Master Yandi, recognized as a natural leader and an outstanding representative of Shaolin Temple’s illustrious history, heritage, and Shaolin Zen martial arts culture is a practitioner and pioneer of the contemporary Shaolin way of life.
